Why do you need a plumber?
Plumbing problems can crop up in the house in many shapes and forms such as low water pressure, no hot water from your taps, the blocked drainage system, toilet backing up, leaky faucets, noisy and leaking pipes, basement flooding, toilet not flushing and many more. When they come up, you fumble with the telephone directory looking for the contacts of a plumber who can bail you out of the debacle. Many a time the problem can be resolved through a DYI job. But when they are complicated, it is always wise to get a professional. Sometimes delay or improper handling can cause irretrievable damage to your plumbing system.
Who is a plumber?
The lexicon says that a plumber is tradesperson that fits and repairs water pipes. In fact, a common image that flashes before our eyes when we think of a plumber is that of a person in low-rise pants who crawls under your kitchen or bathroom sink to repair a faulty pipe. But the job profile of a plumber has undergone a lot of change. These are only part of his job. A modern plumber is an educated and a licensed professional who has specialized training to install and repair the fixtures and appliances that are connected to a home or business’ water system. He is acquainted with the building codes, can read blueprints, and has knowledge of pipe, construction materials, and water-conservation techniques.
Always ask a plumber to give contact details of his past clients. Call them to know about their feedback about the quality of services he provides. Besides these a plumber should be courteous in his behaviour. He should also be punctual to reach your place on time. He should be able to finish the job according to the schedule.
